Yangtze River, about 6,385 km long, is the longest river in China and Asia. It takes its rise from Qinghai province, flowing eastward to East China Sea at Shanghai, dividing the land of China into two parts, the South and the North. The Yangtze River, vast and mighty, together with the Yellow River, is called "Mother River", for breeding Chinese civilization.

The Three Gorges Dam
One of the dams on the Yangtze River, with its body finished in 2006, it is the largest hydro-electric power station in the world. Besides its economic role, it also presents a beautiful view that many poets have paid great tribute to.
