Shanghai Metro Line One

Shanghai Rail Transit Line, also known as Shanghai Metro Line One, is the first subway as well as the most busy and important artery in Shanghai. The southern section (Jinjiang Paradise - Xujiahui) started its test operation in May 28, 1993, making Shanghai become the third city that owns metro lines following Beijing and Tianjin in mainland China.

The first phase of the project (Jinjiang Paradise - Shanghai Railway Station) began its fully test operation in April 10, 1995, with the official operation in July. Thereafter, the extension of the Southern (Xinzhuang - Jinjiang Park) and northern (Shanghai Railway Station – Gongfu New Village) segments were implemented. The line 3 starts from the Xinzhuang Station in Minhang to Fujin Road Station in Baoshan District which has a total length of nearly 37 kilometers with 28 stations and two rolling stock depots (Meilong parking and Fujin Road, parking).
