Shanghai Cuisine Tour

You will find world-famous cuisine from different countries gathering in a metropolis. Shanghai is also no exception. It won’t be a problem to find a restaurant here offering your favorite food. But you deserve more than that. Not far from Shanghai are there many famous foods renowned in China, this mecca of cuisine. If your time permits, you should go those places and try authentic dishes.
When spring comes, Shanghai Nanhui is the sea of peach blossoms and its countryside dishes fully please visitors’ taste buds. Chongming Islands is also an ideal destination during spring. Take an excursion there and try countryside dishes. Outdoor activities are also doable here such as climbing, karting and hunting.
Seafood and beer are the best combination in summer. Shanghai Sanjia Harbor is a good choice, with its delicious seafood, various beach activities, featured folk customs, water-screen films, music performances…
Autumn when osmanthus are in blossoms, it is also the best time to taste hairy crabs.  In China the most famed hairy crabs grow in Yangcheng Lake, just 1.5-hour driving from Shanghai. Satisfy your appetite and also feast your eyes on the beautiful lake view.
Qibao Old Town is a good choice for your cuisine-hunting activities in winter when there are less tourists. Trace the city's long history and at meanwhile taste appetizing snacks such as Qibaogao (polished glutinous rice), Hebao doufugan (dried bean curd wrapped in lotus leaves),  Gan Jicai Xianggu Rouyuan (meatball of dried mushroom and shepherd's-purse), Xiehuang Tangbao (crab yolk buns), Qiaobao Mutton, Qibao Glue Pudding and so on.
